This was our second time staying in this wonderful beach house – the first and most important thing is that the property managers are incredibly responsive – a text or phone call brought immediate help and they went above and beyond to be sure we were comfortable. We are a family of 12 and the house had the perfect amount of space for all of us. It’s right on the beach and the beach in front of the house is most useful at low tide - but our “diehard boogie boarder” was out there a lot! There is a nice sandy beach within pretty easy walking/biking distance with parking as well. The property is on a gated road, easy to get in and out and parking was excellent – 4 spaces! Lots of beach and bathing towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. The area down a few steps from the deck looks usable in photos, but now wet and rocky most of the time with coastal changes. We really enjoyed the bike path along the beach. We enjoyed a big family friendly meal at Harpoon Henry’s one night and good take-out barbeque from Heritage. The kitchen is stocked with every cooking pot/pan, appliance, utensil you could need, including spices. Grill was big, plumbed into natural gas and lots of tools. The table top s’mores maker was fun in lieu of the fire pit. Beds were comfortable, linens were clean, plenty of fans were available along with pack-n-play, high chair, booster seat, child’s dining ware. Actual deck area is on the smaller side, we wouldn’t have all been able to sit or dine out there, but there was plenty of seating for dining inside (with views) as well as comfortable couches for watching a family movie. Adults appreciated the nice umbrella and table outside to sit and enjoy a cuppa or glass of wine and watch the surf or the dolphins!

The home was clean and very well stocked when we arrived. We had a little problem with one of the coffee makers on the first morning, but management was incredibly responsive and provided a replacement within a couple of hours. The location can’t be beat. The house easily met the needs of our multi-generational family, including one member with limited mobility. The elevator was a godsend. We definitely hope to return.

It was Grammys amazing 80th Birthday week! Two of my girls/one husband and four grandkids all out of college, except one. There was room for friends able to visit for the day. It was an amazing place to stay, room for all and accommodations for cooking, game playing, fishing, sunbathing, walking on the beach and generally giving all of us a chance to chill for a week. The fireworks were amazing !

The beach house was awesome! It was perfectly laid out for 3 families plus a couple of extra single family members. 3.5 bathrooms made the stay simple. Best of all was being right on the beach, no loading up kids and gear to drive to the beach. This left us more quality time to spend together just visiting. Also perfect was the amount of seating for meals and the seating with views of the ocean! All our grandchildren wanted to do was to be on the beach playing in the sand and water! As the family with 3 children had come from the Dallas area of Texas, this was extra special! We had a fantastic week celebrating my husband's (PopPop's) 70th birthday. It couldn't have been any better! Thank you!

This was a great place to get the family together. There was something available for everyone from young kids who loved the boogie boards to naps for the older folks. A well provisioned kitchen made cooking easy and being close to Dana point was a perk for whale watching.

We are a three generation family who wanted to spend some time together and this rental provided all we wished for and more. Perfect location and views and plenty of space. The orange and lime green decor was very retro but created a fun vibe. House was clean but needs some removal of scuff marks (soft scrub) and some furniture stain removal(Resolve). Some woodwork especially closet doors need sanded and repainted. None of this hindered the great time we had. We would definitely rent again if in the area. We found the management staff and host very responsive and helpful.

We had a fantastic time at this uniquely located beach house in Capo Beach. There is excellent security at this location. Wi-Fi worked great and house was very clean. The rear patio on the ocean has incredible views and tons of seating. The property management team is very responsive and is quick to address and resolve any issue. I highly recommend this beach property.

The entire experience was very good. Communication was excellent. The caretaker was very friendly and showed up offering more comfortable beach lounge chairs. The house was great for a large group which included our son and all of his groomsmen. Really hated to leave.

We go once per year with our kids and grandkids for a Southern California beach vacation. This property was excellent! There's no substitute for being able to walk directly out on the beach, which this house offers. There were eight of us and we had plenty of room. We will look forward to returning to this property.

We had some issues with the auto-lock entry system and could not enter on our arrival. Although Jordan, the property manager, was there in minutes to assist. Anytime I needed anything, Jordan's rapid response was very much appreciated.

We were disappointed in the cleaning staff. The master bedroom was obviously vacuumed before we got there, but all the area rugs were left thrown on the bed along with the larger floor fan laying across the bed. Kind of a bummer to walk into this beautiful master bedroom and not have it ready to view with that much wanted wow factor.

Also disturbing was the condition of the two balconies. The upstairs balcony off the master had a ashtray full of cigarette butts, in a NON-Smoking Unit (?!?!?). On the lower patio an empty soda can and a Champagne pop-top were left for us to find.

The place is beautiful! No Questions. Perfect location. The house can be much improved with some much needed maintenance i.e. exterior paint & rust removal from rails and BBQ.

Do not let this review keep you from checking this place out. It's a winner.

The cleaning staff needs to be addressed. With the additional cleaning charge we have to pay at time of booking, I expected more.

I feel my family left this house cleaner than when we arrived. (other than towels and sheets needing to be laundered).

if for nothing else, the sight and sound of waves crashing the shore line makes this rental worth it. Plenty of space inside, all of the necessary plus extras to keep you busy and entertained. Private and secluded, there are only few interactions with other people. Close drive to many fantastic restaurants. We will definitely do our best to come back here.

We rented this place with family members to attend the wedding of my son in Dana Point. The location was very convenient for all of the festivities. The grooms men got dressed here and we got some fantastic photos with the ocean in the background. We loved taking a daily walk on the beach rain or shine. Jordan was extremely responsive to the one concern we had and fixed it in a timely fashion. I would recommend this place!

Two couples rented this home for 3 nights in February 2023. We loved the sounds of the ocean and lovely sunsets. The house was clean and the kitchen well equipped.

With two minor exceptions, everything was wonderful about this property. One exception was a lack of ease in leaving names of guests for the guard. The other was a non-functioning dishwasher. Neither made a big impact on our stay which was comfortable and lovely.

Overall it was a good experience and we enjoyed the property. Obviously the location is spectacular. However, the house is dated and that didn't come through via the pictures on the website. Property managers were great and responsive. The heater didn't work during our stay, although, a repair man did come out. Some faucets had "calcium" build up around the bottom of them and the TV in the living room needed to be rebooted, which I did, but should have been working on arrival. Overall it wasn't a great experience, which for the price I feel it should have been, but it was still very good. Thank you

My only complaint was the eroded beach We had to climb down a metal ladder - about 12-15 feet to get to the beach. Not good for small children.
The photos of the outside patio/deck area should be updated. (it appeared you could just walk out to the beach...and it's a 15 ft. drop.)
The house was very clean, well maintained, well equipped. Owner and manager were great to work with.

It has the most amazing views, lots of space for everyone, love all the kitchen has to offer. Great attention to details!

We had an absolutely fabulous time at this beautiful beach home. Despite an incredible white water view, the location and security of this location and home is hard to beat. The owner and agent are very responsive to any issues that may arise. There is a caretaker that lives nearby to ensure that things and questions are taken care of immediately. There is nothing like waking up in a king size bed with an immediate view of the ocean. Nothing compares to the sound and motion of the waves breaking beneath the upstairs vista. The food in the area is incomparable. There are many happy hour menus to take advantage of as well. We had much enjoyment of sitting on the patio right on the sand and watching the sea and wild life happen directly in front of you. It is located on a private beach and it is located inside a gated community with excellent security. We sleep with the doors open to enjoy the cool breezes and the ocean sounds with a superior feeling of security. I highly recommend this property to anyone that desires to avail themselves of a unique beach experience.

We are a group of quilters who like to get together for a beach weekend to quilt and enjoy the beach. The beach home is ideal for a group or family that wants to be together and sew, play games or just hang out. I think this is our 10th year renting this home and have enjoyed each year.

What a lovely, beach house!! Lots of bedrooms - king, queens, bunk beds, twins. Plenty of towels for inside and beach – great for all our kiddos! Easy access to the beach - somewhat rocky (bring beach or swim shoes). We mostly had access during low tide, but a nice sandy patch for the littles to make sand castles! Nice, medium surf for body surfing, boogie boarding, and swimming. Gated community felt really safe – and private beach really meant private! Plenty of markets and restaurants nearby (driving), walking path and lots of gear for kiddos – high chair, booster, pack-n-plays, books, games, puzzles, plastic plates, bowls, cups. Great directions all over the house. Caretakers were so nice and not intrusive. For younger toddlers - hard tile is sometimes slippery, sharp corners on dining table, upstairs loft beds are situated right next to the railing that overlooks the foyer below – a little one could climb up on the bed and take a header - we moved the beds for our stay. Stairs are hard tile. Otherwise, very safe for kids – two gates between the house and the beach. The outdoor shower made sand control easy. And the kitchen! Outfitted with everything! So many appliances, dishware, eating and cooking and barbecuing utensils, pots and pans, etc. and a huge pantry for your groceries! Lots of seating for dining – inside and out. Natural gas grill. It was in the high 70s to low 80s while we were there – there were fans in every room to keep you comfortable. Sitting out on the deck with my cuppa in the morning and eating dinner with the family outside were two of my highlights – gorgeous view, of course, the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves, just so peaceful!

We had a wonderful time at the beach. There were 11 adults, spanning 3 generations and the house was set up for gathering spaces but also places to get away for peace and quiet. The house had a well equipped kitchen for a large group. We were a bit disappointed by the lack of beach- not like the photo- but this may be due to time if year or tidal changes. Doheney was a 5 minute drive so we ended up there a couple of times. Overall, nice house for extended family to gather.

We rented this lovely home for a multi-generational family vacation. The home is well appointed, well maintained, and clean. The on-site manager, Ginger, was very friendly and helpful. The master bedroom is awesome...private balcony, large bath, very comfortable. The description of the home is very accurate. The beach is accessible by a staircase, so be aware if you have very young or elderly people in your party. The beach itself is quite rocky, especially during high tide (which comes right up to the bottom of the staircase). During low tide, the beach is much more accessible and enjoyable. We were there during the 4th of July and were treated to an amazing fireworks display we could watch from our own private balcony! We really had a lovely time during our stay.

We had a family vacation at this lovely Capistrano home on the beach. It is a great family spot for our adult children and one 14 month grandchild. Very kid friendly. Sleeping to the sounds of the ocean is something I will never forget. We hope to be back next year.

We had a wonderful stay at this beachfront property. We had one small glitch at check-in but the management immediately resolved the issue. They were great to work with. The home is well maintained and provided everything we needed. Short drive to grocery stores and restaurants. We were there with our children and grandchildren and loved staying right on the beach. We had access to beach toys, chairs and body boards which added to our fun! I would highly recommend and will stay again!

We were delightfully surprised by how quiet and peaceful the location was. There was only the sound of crashing waves, 24-7. We were supposed to be a group of 10 celebrating 30 years of friendship, but with Covid restrictions across the country, only two of us could enjoy this amazing property. The house is stocked with EVERYTHING -- towels, blankets, binoculars, kitchen utensils -- you might need or want. With all the "crazy" going on in the world, this was the perfect place to unwind, recharge and reboot!

Having been locked down in a small Manhattan apartment for nearly a year, we decided to travel to LA to visit family. While there, we thought it'd be a great idea to rent a beach house.

After much research on Airbnb and other home rental sites, we found this gem on Dana Point. I reached out to Sand & Surf, the property management company and they gave me a good rate, discounted from Airbnb and VRBO. It was still pretty expensive for our budget but we decided that it was worth it as none of us had taken a vacation for over a year and we were just glad to be together and for all of us to have survived Covid to this point.

Everything was arranged and Stephanie was very responsive to questions. When we arrived, we were wowed. The house is right on its own private beach with the water coming straight up to the steps at high tide. We even saw para-sailers glide by within 50 feet of the house and wave to us. Every one of our family enjoyed every single moment at the home and the opportunity to bond over a fireplace and talk about life.

You can tell that the owners really care about the guests. Everything was absolutely perfect. The house was very clean. And the owner was kind enough to even include a bottle of wine and all the ingredients we needed to make S’mores in the fireplace. My 8 year old daughter absolutely loved it. We would have had to make a separate trip to the store had it not been included. We loved the colorful furniture and décor which just gave such a happy vibe to the place.

There was ample rooms for all of us (6). 3 rooms with King or Queen size beds. 2 rooms each with beds for 2. So max capacity would be about 10, although the house is so spacious that you could probably fit 50! (not recommended or allowed!) The master suite was something else: facing the endless ocean. We enjoyed every single sunset and the walks on the beach.
